Davidson Holdings appoints Pendragon in sole supply fleet deal

Davidson Holdings, which owns and manages the Cistermiser, Combimate, Keraflo, Salamander and Talon brands in the lightside building products sector, has grown in recent years through acquisition, with each of the businesses operating its own fleet policy. 

To avoid further fragmentation, the company took the decision to subcontract its car policy and vehicle management, and selected Pendragon Contracts to deliver a company-wide solution.  

The fleet management company consulted with Davidson Holdings to provide a banded choice list of management and sales vehicles appropriate for its 125 employees, which will be restricted to six manufacturers. Each vehicle’s CO2 emissions will be capped at 130g/km and will take into account the whole-life cost of the model.

As part of its consultancy, Pendragon Contracts has given all Davidson Holdings staff access to DAVE (Driver And Vehicle Extranet), its bespoke online driver selection and information portal. This will provide employees with full details of Pendragon Contracts’ accident management and vehicle downtime management services, including daily rental.

Stuart Johnson, finance director of Davidson Holdings, said: ‘With previous experience of the services and expertise offered by Pendragon Contracts we were confident that its banded user chooser policy assigned to our employees would be appropriate. It was also important that the presentation of the group-wide policy should be attractive internally to incentivise staff to follow the procedure and to assist with employee retention.  DAVE is just the kind of platform we need.’
