Daily rental volumes ‘almost double’ at Runyourfleet

Fleet management company Runyourfleet has almost doubled its car and van daily rental volumes following an investment in technology.

Runyourfleet says it’s seeing manage growing demand for short-term hire from across its customer base.

The business, the trading name for Multifleet Vehicle Management, manages in excess of 26,000 vehicles for businesses across the length and breadth of the UK and says it’s seeing manage growing demand for short-term hire from across its customer base.

In response, the company has adopted the 1link Hire Network platform.

Managing director Steve Whitmarsh said: “Daily rental is a key part of our portfolio and looks to become even more important in the future. However, it is an area where we felt held back by using a legacy system that wasn’t providing the flexibility we needed to meet customer requirements. Thanks to our existing relationship with Epyx as a user of their 1link Service Network service, maintenance and repair platform, adopting 1link Hire Network seemed like the obvious decision.

“Probably the best indication of the success of the new platform for us is that we have pretty much doubled our monthly rental volumes and much of this is because we are now confident that we have the right infrastructure in place.”

As well as adopting 1link Hire Network – which it says makes it much more nimble and flexible – Runyourfleet has adopted Epyx’s Downtime Management module for 1link Service Network. This acts as a bridge to SMR booked through the platform, making short-term hire cover easier and minimising unneeded rental days.

Whitmarsh continued: “We’re especially pleased with the ease of use around vehicle off-road, end of life and off-hire. All of this happens without difficulty thanks to the integration between 1link Service Network and 1link Hire Network through Downtime Management.

“We are a technology-driven company and we needed a system that delivered for us when it came to rental. If it wasn’t for 1link Hire Network, we’d have had to build our own platform but it does everything we have been looking for.”
