Covid impact on driving for work and employee wellbeing explored in new white paper

The vital subject of how to improve work-related road safety – and employee wellbeing – in the wake of Covid-19 has come under focus in a new white paper.

The white paper provides practical tips for creating an improved strategy for managing work-related road risk as we emerge from the pandemic

Published by IAM RoadSmart, the white paper highlights how many UK workers who continued to provide essential services during Covid-19 saw workloads, mileages and hours at the wheel all increase; bringing both physical and mental stress as well as fatigue, all of which can bring about a deterioration  in drivers’ ability and behaviour.

In many cases, the pressures were already a feature of their working lives before the pandemic, affecting personal wellbeing and having concerning knock-on effects on road risk.

The white paper explores this and offers practical advice for businesses and employees on ensuring that this key area of workplace safety is correctly and effectively addressed in the wake of the pandemic.
