Climatecars fleet to expand

By / 12 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The zero emissions car service, which runs a fleet of Renault Fluence electric vehicles as well as Toyota Prius and seven-seat Prius+ hybrids, has installed its first fast charge point at its central London headquarters in conjunction with Siemens.

The new Siemens charge point allows Climatecars to fully charge its Fluence vehicles faster than a conventional three-pin plug, offering dedicated charging to two of its zero-emission vehicles at the same time. It is available at all times so enables Climatecars to make the most use of the Vauxhall Ampera it has been testing, plus allows its Fluence drivers to top up at any time.

Nicko Williamson, managing director of Climatecars, said: ‘We are very excited about the introduction of zero emission electric vehicles to Climatecars’ fleet and in Siemens we have the ideal supplier of infrastructure support and service.’

He added that he hoped to be able to extend the electric car fleet when it has added more infrastructure to support these vehicles.

The firm has recently introduced five seven-seat Prius+ models, with a further 20 planned to join the fleet in the autumn.
