Cleveland Fire Brigade signs up Škoda

Cleveland Fire Brigade is deploying 14 Škoda Octavia Scout estates for its flexible duty officers.

Cleveland Fire Brigade chose the Octavia Scout estates for their space, performance, economy and 4×4 running

The vehicles were chosen for their combination of space, low fuel consumption, reliability and value for money. In addition, their 4×4 abilities will enable officers to attend emergency response incidents such as large-scale fires and road traffic collisions regardless of terrain.

Karen Winter, director of corporate services at Cleveland Fire Brigade, said: “This lease deal has allowed us to standardise our fleet, and provide vital vehicles to our flexible duty officers to respond to incidents quickly and safely, in all types of conditions.”

The vehicles are being supplied on a three-year lease deal through the public sector team at Volkswagen Financial Services and are also being equipped with RSG blue light equipment installed by Cygnal and a run lock system that allows the keys to be removed from the ignition whilst the engine is still running to keep the emergency lights on without causing the battery to go flat.
