Chrysler brand to exit UK from 2017

By / 9 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The story has been reported by both Autocar and Auto Express, who spoke to deputy UK managing director Karl Howkins.

Speaking to Auto Express, Howkins said: "The Jeep Renegade is more important to focus on as the volume is much higher. Plus there are more new Alfa and Fiat products coming that we need to focus on."

The group had already said that it is to pull its struggling Lancia brand within Europe apart from Italy.

FCA told Fleet World it has made the decision to go ahead with the change based on the current UK business and has given its dealerships 24 months’ notice, which means they will officially close March 2017. It added that Chrysler aftersales would continue.

The company also said that the move would enable it to put the focus on other Fiat Group products in the future.
