The partnership will now allow Chevin to sell its “FleetWave” and “RoadBASE” products and services into public sector customers under the terms of the Buying Solutions CITHS agreement as a Softcat approved sub-contractor.

As well as a direct route for Chevin to increase its already growing presence in the “blue light” services, local authority and national government markets, this agreement will mean Softcat can broaden its offering and provide more integrated solutions than was previously thought possible.

Mark Brazington, Partner Alliance manager, Softcat, said: ‘Chevin’s on- and off-line fleet management software and support will add to our existing portfolio of services aimed at the public sector, bridging a gap with high-end solutions that fit with our dedication to excellent quality products and service levels. Softcat has always been dedicated to giving the public sector the opportunity to procure the best software and associated expertise available, and the purpose of this partnership is very much in that tradition.”

Kevin Hudson, Sales manager, Chevin Fleet Solutions, said: ‘When we decided to look for a partner in this space we wanted someone with a similar approach and outstanding track record for delivering both effective technology solutions and a personal service. Softcat ticked all the boxes for Chevin, and thankfully recognised the key benefits that FleetWave and RoadBASE would bring to its software and consultancy services.”

The partnership between the two companies will be formally unveiled at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers’ Conference in September.
