CDL to provide vehicle data services to the RAC

The partnership will also provide vehicle provenance information for consumers through the RAC Passport product and vehicle look-up data to support RAC's breakdown service, call centre operations and RAC Cars.

The data will be supplied by CDL's Vehicle Information Services (VIS) entity, which is a licensed provider of major vehicle data sources such as the DVLA, the Police National Computer (PNC), the SMMT, Insurance Database Services Limited (IDSL) and major finance houses.

Head of CDL VIS, Roger Powell commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with the RAC to provide our vehicle information services. CDL VIS offers the most accurate, intuitive vehicle data services on the market, reducing the likelihood of fraud or human error in providing information and allowing consumers and private dealers to make advised choices when buying or selling a vehicle.”
