CD Auction Group appoints new managing director

CD Auction Group has appointed Andy Pearce as its new managing director.

Andy Pearce, managing director, CD Auctions

Pearce joined CD Auctions in August 2020 as operations director and has been appointed to the MD role after guiding the company’s record performance over the last quarter; in the first three months of 2021, the company has seen new records set for the volumes of vehicles sold, conversion rates and the number of dealers using its digital channels to source stock.

CD Auctions also launched Vehicle Tradex in January to help dealers source stock with confidence; the new platform ensures every vehicle is independently inspected. Dealers seeking to sell cars can choose to list the vehicle from their own forecourt, and an independent inspector will appraise and image the vehicle within 48 hours.

The business also took action early in the lockdown to help dealers by removing listing and sellers fees on the dealer-to-dealer platform.

Commenting on his new role, Andy Pearce said: “The company has gone from strength to strength in the last few months with more vendors and buyers recognising the efficiency of our digital multi-channel approach. We continue to invest in the service to ensure that CD Auctions is the easiest place to sell and buy stock.”

Latest developments at the business saw the launch in March of a new regular EV sale with stock from Tesla and a range of fleet vendors.

The company is making significant investments in its EV capabilities and also plans to launch enhancements to its buyer’s app over the coming months.
