Cap HPI launches WLTP solution

Cap HPI will launch a WLTP solution in September for users of its new vehicle data, following extensive testing in August.

The company says it has worked alongside vehicle manufacturers, importers and representative bodies to develop a flexible, industry-wide solution.

The data will provide ‘span’ (minimum and maximum) values in the standard New Vehicle Data alongside full WLTP data for manufacturers who have sufficiently simplified vehicle options, and also offer a real-time API to support specific vehicle configurations for those manufacturers requiring it.

Beth Davies, product manager at Cap HPI, said: “WLTP is a crucial industry-wide change, and we are working across the automotive supply chain to ensure we have a robust platform in place. We are building an agile solution that can meet the differing demands of manufacturers and data users.”

Cap HPI says the solution will work across all the different manufacturer platforms, but it will take time for all data to become available because manufacturers are taking different approaches. However, the API technical specification and a test interface will be made available to Cap HPI customers in September. The standard New Vehicle Data is continually being updated and will contain the data our customers need by 1st January 2019, Cap HPI added.

The Cap HPI API will launch before the final manufacturer data is available too, to give users as much time as possible to schedule development and test the interface.

The news is a development of Cap HPI’s earlier announcement about the integration of WLTP data.
