The government consultation looked at sources of emissions other than exhausts

The consultation received more than 50 responses from academia, industry, local government, regulators and individuals according to government.

The next stage will be for the review of results by the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory and the Air Quality Expert Group, which make recommendations to government for forthcoming policy decisions.

The aim is for the responses from the consultation to inform work with international partners to research the development of new standards for tyres and brakes, which will be used to address emissions from these sources.
