BVRLA membership reaches 10-year high

The BVRLA has welcomed 73 new members across all its categories of membership during the first six months of 2015, bringing its total membership to over 750.

The association said the growth is partly attributable to the strengthening economy and rising popularity of vehicle rental and leasing. It is also a reflection of the vital role the BVRLA is playing in enabling its members to achieve and maintain compliance in an increasingly regulated environment.

The past 18 months has seen the association work particularly closely with the Competition and Markets Authority in its review of the car rental sector and with the Financial Conduct Authority in its development of a consumer credit regime. In addition, the BVRLA’s Conciliation Service has recently become one of the first alternative dispute resolution services in the UK to be approved by the Trading Standards Institute.

“We are delighted to welcome all these members into the association and look forward to working with them in the future,” said BVRLA chief executive, Gerry Keaney.

“They have chosen to be part of a vibrant, collaborative trade body that promotes best practice and campaigns on behalf of the industry and its customers. We know they will wear the logo with pride.”
