Business as usual at Wilsons Auctions

By / 13 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The firm says that it's continued running fleet sales across its network of auction complexes, located in Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland – with many attendees braving conditions to attend Wilsons Auctions complexes, knowing that other auctions had to cancel their sales.

'The weather brings with it logistical challenges – but it is something we have prepared for, said Jacqui Le Put, sales and marketing director at Wilsons Auctions. 'All auction complexes across our network are equipped with hot power washers to get the product into the auction hall – whilst attendees can avail of on site facilities to keep the cold at bay. Attendances were up across the group as other auction houses fell victim to the conditions, thankfully our preparations paid off.'

In the past week The Wilsons Auctions Network sold 21% more vehicles year on year – despite overall entries being down – with live bidding activity proving a key success factor.

Ms Le Put explained: 'Our Live Bid facility has really taken off – buyers from all over the UK have accessed our Auctions and picked up stock that is relevant to them. The 30% increase in Live Bid activity this week is weather related, but the underlying fact is that our buyers trust the facility and are happy to use it.'
