Brake campaign highlights fleet safety benefits of telematics

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The call comes from Fleet Safety Forum, a division of Brake, the road safety charity, which says that vehicle tracking technology is growing in importance for fleet safety.

Roz Cumming, Fleet Safety Forum manager at Brake, said: 'This is a growing market and one which fleet managers must consider as part of their wider strategy. While tracking technology may not be suitable or accessible for all fleets, it can be a really effective and data-rich monitoring option to help managers gather, analyse and importantly, act on key information about their fleet’s day to day operation, such as driver behaviour, fuel efficiency, journey times and more.'

As such the organisation has launched a campaign alerting drivers and managers to the benefits of using telematics systems to manage risk and improve safety. Ths campaign is based on the Fleet Safety Forum’s Big Brother poster and e-guidance pack, sponsored by MiX Telematics.

The poster aims to help fleet managers get the message across to drivers that "Big Brother is watching you… so he can protect you". The e-guidance document for fleet managers explains the features and benefits of using telematics systems as part of their wider programme of road risk management, to save lives and save money.

The Big Brother campaign pack is available for FREE to the first 50 companies that order it. Thereafter it costs £7.45 plus p&p. The pack is also provided free of charge to members of Brake’s Fleet Safety Forum, the charity’s not-for-profit service helping companies stop crashes involving their vehicles through better road risk management. Subscription costs from £90 per year and fleet managers can subscribe online at www.fleetsafetyforum.org.

Additional copies of the poster can be ordered for £2.50 each + p&p. Contact Brake on 01484 559909 or [email protected] to order.
