BMW cuts i3 and i3s pricing to remain grant-eligible

BMW has cut the prices for the i3 and i3s to ensure that customers can continue to benefit from the Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG).

OTR pre-grant pricing for the i3 120Ah now starts at £33,805 and £34,805 for the i3s 120Ah, ensuring they still qualify for the revised PiCG

OTR pre-grant pricing for the i3 120Ah now starts at £33,805 and £34,805 for the i3s 120Ah, ensuring they still qualify for the revised PiCG, which now stands at £2,500 and has a price cap of £35k.

There have been no changes to the specification offered on either model.

First launched in 2013, the i3 has sold over 200,000 units globally and more than 22,000 in the UK, with sales continuing to rise in 2020 despite the lockdown and the 29.4% reduction in UK new car registrations.

Sales of the company’s fully electric models are expected to grow by over 50% per year in the coming years and the company will deliver around two million all-electric vehicles globally by the end of 2025.

Imminent BMW EV launches include the iX3 from July 2021, while the iX and BMW i4 will also come to market in the UK before the end of 2021; BMW Group will have 13 all-electric models on the road from 2023 when at least one all-electric model will be offered in approximately 90% of the company’s current market segments.
