BCA opens dedicated BMW refurb centre

BCA Fleet Solutions has opened a facility for BMW UK to manage the appraisal and refurbishment of up to 55,000 vehicles a year.

BCA’s new facility provides onsite SMART repair, paint facilities and alloy wheel refurbishment for BMW

The new facility, based in Corby, is a result of the five-year auto services solutions contract that BMW UK and BCA announced in August, which has seen BCA signed up to provide a range of physical and digital remarketing solutions, including defleeting vehicles for its Alphabet fleet management and leasing business.

The Corby facility provides onsite SMART repair, paint facilities and alloy wheel refurbishment. It also hosts a transportation hub and a customer service department that serves all BCA Fleet Solutions customers.

The site features many technology innovations including the deployment of RFID (radio frequency identification) which allows each vehicle to be tracked while on site in real time. The Geddington Road facility is designed to meet rigorous environmental standards, and the valeting centre recycles 100% of its water usage.

An on-site team of BMW UK inspectors and BCA experts work together to streamline the appraisal and refurbishment process. The approach has seen the average time for refurbishment reduce to seven days. All vehicles are inspected before they are remarketed and sold under the BCA Assured scheme.

James Hopkins, managing director of BCA Fleet Solutions, said: “The contract with BMW UK is a fantastic example of how BCA can operate across the automotive supply chain to deliver innovative and efficient processes to benefit our customers. BCA has worked with BMW UK to build and develop an innovative, cost-efficient and market-leading solution for their used car needs.”
