BCA goes live with new evening online auction programme

BCA has introduced a new online weekly evening sales event as part of its expanding programme.

BCA is adding a regular Monday evening sale to its programme, commencing on 26 October

The first evening event was held on Thursday 15 October and provided a choice of 330 cars at a variety of age, mileage, condition and price points, with vehicles from UKCGR Trade and Select, Bristol Street Motors and Lookers. There were nearly 14,000 online catalogue views pre-sale and nearly 300 bidders participated.

Based on the successful launch of the Thursday evening sale, BCA is adding a regular Monday evening sale to the programme, starting on 26 October. The sale will begin at 5:00pm and will  feature stock from John Clark Motor Group and UKCGR Trade & Select, while further vendors are expected in the weeks ahead.

The new evening sale comes hot on the heels of the launch of a Saturday sales programme, which went live on 19 September and marked the first time that BCA had sold exclusively online for six days a week; the company said the move was the result of demand continuing at exceptional levels across the wholesale used vehicle market. Currently, all BCA sales remain online only.

Stuart Pearson, BCA COO UK remarketing, commented: “We continue to enhance our online auction programme to meet the changing needs of our buyers in the post-Covid market, utilising the connectivity and efficiency across the BCA Group to provide more of the right vehicles to the marketplace at the right time.

“We aim to make it even easier for our customers to interact with our online auction platforms and widening our scheduled sales programme means customers can buy stock when it suits their needs, with online auctions staged six days a week and two new evening sales every Monday and Thursday.

“Additionally, the activity through our fixed price BCA Buy Now channel and BCA Bid Now timed auctions continues to accelerate as our customers recognise the flexibility and choice these channels deliver 24/7.”

BCA has also debuted a new Retail Ready digital sales channel, designed to help trade customers cut overheads on vehicle disposals. It went live on 1 October, offering vehicles 24/7, all oprepared cosmetically and mechanically to a new industry retail standard developed by BCA.
