Automotive Leasing reappointed for public sector procurement agreement

By / 8 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The firm has been reappointed as a supplier for contract hire of passenger and commercial vehicles on the Pan Government Vehicle Lease and Outsourced Fleet Services Framework, effective from May 2011.

It has also extended its remit with successful new tenders for contract hire of motorcycles/quad bikes and buses and coaches.

The new vehicle leasing framework agreement run by Buying Solutions forms part of government ambitions to achieve better value by centralising purchasing agreements. Buying Solutions is the national procurement partner for all UK public services and part of the Cabinet Office’s Efficiency and Reform Group.

Stuart Walker, brand director at Automotive Leasing, said: ‘We’re delighted that our long-standing expertise in the public sector has been recognised and our position as a public sector leasing partner has strengthened.

‘The public sector is facing unprecedented pressure to reduce operating costs and we believe the new framework will help achieve savings. The new processes will streamline some of the blockages associated with traditional tenders.

‘The latest vehicle leasing framework also encourages framework providers to compete on price in reverse e-auctions, allowing public sector organisations to meet their bulk vehicle requirements at the lowest possible cost.'

The latest framework comes in addition to existing frameworks on which Automotive Leasing is already a supplier, covering fleet management, consultancy services and vehicle hire (daily rental).

Mr Walker added: ‘Securing a place on the framework is only the first step for Automotive Leasing, and we will continue to demonstrate our drive to become the leading supplier in public sector leasing.’
