Autoglass’s new interior sanitisation service to help protect drivers

Autoglass has introduced a new sanitisation service intended to help fleets protect their drivers and passengers during the ongoing pandemic.

The new Full Interior service is initially available for centre-based windscreen appointments but potentially launching as a standalone service for the safe management of vehicle handovers

The new Full Interior service is initially available for centre-based windscreen appointments but potentially launching as a standalone service for the safe management of vehicle handovers.

It enhances Autoglass’s existing cleaning procedures carried out by technicians and treats the whole of the vehicle’s interior, including upholstery, carpets and hard-to-reach areas such as air vents.

The service uses professional anti-bacterial and anti-viral fogging which involves releasing a fine spray of disinfectant throughout the vehicle, plus vacuuming, and is aimed at restoring vehicle hygiene following repair work. The disinfectant is designed to kill and protect against 99.99% of viruses and bacteria, as shown in test results, and can protect in two minutes.

Before and after tests completed by Autoglass showed that the bacteria levels on a steering wheel decreased by 98% after treatment.

Standard Touchpoint cleaning is undertaken by technicians at all appointments as part of the Belron Way Of Fitting and is designed to protect the driver and technician during the transfer of the vehicle. All vehicle touchpoints that the technician will come into contact with during a repair or replacement are cleaned with a disinfectant both before and after the appointment.

Greg Stansfield, head of sales, Autoglass, said: “Protecting both drivers and technicians is always our top priority but is now more important than ever. Fleet services have a duty of care to ensure the vehicles are as safe and clean as possible to protect the driver. To support our fleet customers with this we have launched our enhanced sanitisation service, Full Interior, which is designed to reassure drivers and their passengers that all areas of their vehicle have been fully sanitised.”
