Auto Windscreens’ 'Tour De Chesterfield' raises £1,265 for Prostate Cancer
The charity event comprised four teams led by the senior members of the business, cycling on static bikes donated by Simply Gym, each attempting to cover the same distance travelled by Tour de France competitors on the same day – a whopping 138km.
The fastest team, led by Markerstudy head of group IT, Dan Fiehn, completed the challenge in 3hrs 55mins and the participant with the fastest personal time was keen cyclist and managing director of Auto Windscreens, Chris Thornton.
The company’s head office in Chesterfield also held a bake sale, French-themed canteen menu and fancy dress initiative to boost donations to Prostate Cancer UK, totalling £1,265.97.
Chris Thornton, commented: “I’m thrilled that we were able to garner so much support for this event. Thank you to everyone who donated and took part; I’m very proud to be putting my love of cycling to good use, helping to raise money and awareness for such a worthy cause.”
