Auto Windscreens reinforces ADAS calibration capabilities

Auto Windscreens has deployed a new ADAS calibration solution across its fitting hub network as it reports a 64% uplift in ADAS calibration jobs in 2019.

Auto Windscreens predicts that by the end of the year around 20% of completed jobs are likely to involve an ADAS calibration

According to the firm, this year will see a swift rise in the need for calibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as part of windscreen replacements, due to the fast-rising take-up of such technology on today’s cars; MD James MacBeth says that by the end of the year around 20% of completed jobs are likely to involve an ADAS calibration.

In response to this growing demand, the UK windscreen repair company now offers an additional ADAS calibration solution using Hella Gutmann equipment at each of its fitting hubs, giving its customers full network coverage.

All Auto Windscreens ‘base’ technicians are trained to use Hella Gutmann ADAS kits, which differ for every make and model of car, while mobile workers carry ‘mega macs’ in the firm’s fleet of nationwide vans, ensuring coverage for all customers. In addition, there are a number of vehicles that require manufacturer calibrations, so Auto Windscreens will draw on long-standing relationships with dealerships in these instances.

Commenting on the rising need for ADAS calibrations alongside market growth, James MacBeth, managing director of Auto Windscreens, said: “We’re ready for this and more – offering a complete solution means we can look after our customers’ needs quickly, more efficiently, and offer a one-stop shop.”
