Priced from £52,790 (OTR), the new plug-in hybrid is capable of up to 34 miles electric-only range according to WLTP figures and a top-electric-speed of 84mph. It is powered by a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine and 140hp electric motor producing a combined 299hp of system power, with 450Nm torque.

In addition to its electric-only credentials, the new Audi can reach 62mph from rest in 5.5 seconds onto a top speed of 152mph. All the while, CO2 is rated at a low-tax 35g/km.

The A6 50 TFSI e can be plugged in using a 7kW wallbox with the supplied Type 2 cable, and be fully charged in around two and a half hours.

The car comes in a choice of Sport, S line, Black Edition and Vorsprung specification options, with the latter ticking all the options boxes to keep things simple.

The result is a rapid executive saloon that offers company car drivers just 10% Benefit-in-Kind.
