Audi Q3 gains efficient 1.4 TFSI & new trim

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new 1.4 TFSI unit sits alongside the 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI model and is also available with front-wheel drive only. The unit delivers 150PS along with maximum torque of 184lb.ft from 1,750 to 3,000rpm and comes with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission.

Combined fuel economy stands at 47.9mpg, and CO2 emissions match the 138bhp 2.0 TDI engine at 137g/km (145g/km for S tronic models). This equates to a 19% BiK figure for the manual, giving a tax liability for a 40% taxpayer of £1,800 per annum (first year).

Meanwhile the Q3 1.4 TFSI in manual guise will reach 62mph from rest in 9.2 seconds (8.9 seconds for cars equipped with S tronic), with a top speed of 126mph.

The 1.4 TSI is available in SE and S line specification and is priced from £23,870 OTR to £28,115 OTR.

The new engine joins the range alongside a new S line Plus specification option. Only available on quattro-equipped 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI models, the new trim slots into the line-up above the S line option and carries a £2,350 premium.

S line Plus replaces the 18-inch S line wheel with a 19-inch design, and also includes perforated leather and Alcantara upholstery, cruise control, the Audi parking system plus and sat nav with a 6.5-inch colour display.

S line features carried over include Xenon Plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, S line body styling, light and rain sensors, front sports seats with powered lumbar support, the Audi Music Interface, Bluetooth interface and voice control system for many infotainment functions. It also offers the no-cost option of S line sports suspension with a 20mm lower setting if preferred.
