Aston Barclay raises over £1,100 in Chelmsford Children in Need charity sale

Held on 9 November ahead of the annual BBC telethon, the event saw auctioneers and staff at the independent auction group’s head office dress up as superheroes, including Batgirl, to raise maximum funds.

The auction group donated £5 for every car sold from either Volkswagen Financial Services or Motability. The final amount raised from the charity auction, donations from buyers and a Children in Need-themed bake sale at Aston Barclay’s largest site totalled £1,136.92.

Also on offer, as 300 entries passed under the hammer, were various prizes including stunt flying and tank driving sessions. In order to maximise funds further, Aston Barclay waived all LIVE fees for the auction.

Martin Potter, remarketing director (south), commented on the sale: “Every member of the Aston Barclay Chelmsford team was extremely excited to kick-off our charity sale. As all staff were dressed up in their favourite superhero costumes, the atmosphere amongst the buyers was fantastic. It was great to raise £1,136.92 for Children in Need, which will make a real difference for this fantastic cause.”
