Aston Barclay envisages spending around £1 million on the project, which will more than double capacity at the site to 20,000 vehicles per annum, whilst creating nine new jobs. it is also planning to run a second weekly sale for fleet and dealer vendors.

The 3.5 acres will be used to provide additional hard standing and storage space for cars ready for auction and those that have been sold and are awaiting collection. Parking will also be improved and combined with the site's brand new valeting bay, which will transform the dynamics of the site.

'Prees Heath has been growing as both a fleet and dealer part exchange auction since general manager Lisa Grimsley took over the site 12 months ago. New buyers are coming in from the North West and Wales and new vendors who have tried out the site are now regularly entering cars for sale,' explained David Scarborough, Aston Barclay's national sales director.

'This new investment will transform Prees Heath and strengthens our presence in the North. Further investment in our Westbury and Chelmsford sites will also improve services for fleet and dealer vendors within the Aston Barclay group,' he added.
