The Lightfoot technology brings a range of operational, financial and safety benefits.

Developed to help employees improve their driving style, the Lightfoot technology builds on traditional tracking technology by also offering real-time visual and verbal feedback to help every driver maximise engine efficiency and improve safety. The device is fitted to the vehicle, where it listens to the engine via the OBD port and determines its ‘efficiency sweet spot’ using F1-style analytics. All drivers are given a score according to how consistently they have followed Lightfoot’s guidance. If they reach the ‘Elite Driver’ level (Lightfoot’s gold standard which most achieve), this will unlock an extensive range of benefits and rewards including exclusive discounts on meals, experience days and gadgets, as well as entry into weekly competitions with prizes like holiday vouchers and hotel stays.

According to Lightfoot, the system offers a potential 20% saving on fuel bills, 45% reduction in downtime and a 60% reduction in accidents, as well as offering vehicle tracking telematics data.

Martin Kadhim, director at Lightfoot, said: “We couldn’t be happier that the largest dealer group in Europe has selected us as a partner – we have had a wonderful experience working with its partner business, Activa, and are looking forward to helping Arnold Clark’s customers improve vehicle efficiency and driver safety by rewarding their drivers for good performance.”
