ARI creates new role to help fleets tackle compliance

ARI has appointed its first-ever transport compliance manager, in order to help its fleet customers manage the increasing demands of legislation and compliance.

Rachel Bullen, transport compliance manager at ARI

Rachel Bullen has been appointed to the role, bringing more than 30 years’ experience running fleets and currently chairing a number of key industry bodies.

Bullen will work with customers to establish and streamline compliance processes, and help them ensure their vehicles and drivers remain legal and safe during operation.

“Compliance over the past few years, especially around O Licence, has become increasingly complex for many fleets. A lot of companies, especially those who are running increasing numbers of vans, are now having to navigate this challenging aarea when previously they did not,” she said.

“It is our job at ARI to help these companies, making administration as efficient as possible for them, helping them with governance, providing guidance and ensuring their procedures are watertight.”

Bullen’s experience across many mixed commercial fleets will support her work. Prior to joining ARI, she was fleet compliance and risk manager at utility giant Cadent Gas and previously was national training instructor at Logistics UK. She continues to be chair of both the Van Excellence Governance Group and Van Policy Working Group for Logistics UK.

“To have a person of such vast experience and knowledge of compliance and legislation on board at ARI is very important,” said Matt Cranny, ARI operations director. “Rachel has an encyclopaedic knowledge of compliance and also a deep practical understanding of how to make it work on the ground. Rachel will be key to shaping ARI’s solutions and support for our customers in the most important area of managing a commercial fleet.”
