Applications open for MaaS fund

Transport Scotland is inviting applications for a £2m fund that will look to drive new Mobility as a Service (MaaS) developments.

Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is a concept that we’re all going to have to get used to

The funding aims to unlock innovation in Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS)

First announced last September, the fund is being offered in response to fast-growing interest in MaaS led by public and private sector organisations.

The opening of applications, announced by Transport Secretary Michael Matheson as he addressed the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Scotland annual conference in Edinburgh yesterday (20 June 2019), covers the first of three annual rounds of funding, with applications open until 30 August 2019.

Stephen Taylor, CEO of Technology Scotland, which operates MaaS Scotland, said: “We are confident that this fund will deliver exciting outcomes that could have a significant impact on the way we engage with transport in the future.

“We look forward to seeing these projects develop as we build the case for MaaS upscale as part of a future transport strategy which could transform the way we travel in our cities and rural areas.”
