Annual Brake survey to help firms benchmark fleet safety standards

The survey, conducted by Brake Professional with the support of Licence Bureau, will look at the six key areas of road safety covered in the Brake Pledge:

  • Slow – within speed limits
  • Sober – free from alcohol or drugs
  • Sharp – not tired, ill or with poor eyesight
  • Silent – phone off and out of reach
  • Secure – belted up in a safe vehicle
  • Sustainable – only when you have to

Taking part in the fleet safety survey is free and anonymous, and provides organisations with an opportunity to benchmark themselves against industry safety standards. All organisations who take part receive a free copy of the survey report and results.

Brake said that taking part in the fleet safety survey is an ideal opportunity for organisations to identify ways to improve their occupational road risk management and take action to reduce the number of collisions on our roads involving at-work drivers. The Pledge is also the theme of this year’s Road Safety Week, which takes place 21-27 November 2016.

Complete the fleet safety survey online here. The survey takes just 15 minutes to complete, and will close on Friday 15 July 2016. Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: “The Pledge is one of our flagship projects, so we’re really excited to announce that it’s the topic for this year’s fleet safety survey. The survey is a great way for organisations to review their current fleet safety standing, and I’d encourage any organisation with at-work drivers to spend fifteen minutes completing the survey.”
