Andersen launches business-focused charging point

Charging point manufacturer, Andersen EV, has launched a new-generation ‘premium’ unit designed to offer businesses full control over the way their vehicles top up.

Andersen A1

Andersen’s charging points are aimed at businesses.

Aimed at workplaces and businesses such as hotels, the A2 builds on the design of the A1, but extends the power output to offer three-phase, 22kW charging – three times faster than most public charging points, for compatible vehicles.

The A2 can be ordered in a range of premium finishes including wood and brushed metal, and is backed by a lifetime guarantee, with Andersen able to monitor its health over a WiFi connection and dispatch engineers automatically before faults occur, the company said.

It also works with the Konnect smartphone app. This means businesses can lock the unit, restrict power output at set times to balance the load on the grid, or where multiple points are in use they can set specific vehicles to take a higher rate of charge – for example, if they are priority users.

Konnect enables users to get push notifications about their charging status, monitor the remaining charging time and status, and check the cost of topping up.
