With more than 320 operational contracts, Amey provides services including utilities, highways, waste management, rail, justice solutions, social housing and facilities management across the UK and requires a fleet of bespoke and specialist vehicles to be available nationwide at any time.

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions’ team of experts are now embedded with Amey’s operations, providing the internal teams with a continuous consultancy service for their operations.

Tom Lawless, Amey’s fleet and plant director, said: “Amey is one of the largest and most diverse companies working for the public and regulated sectors in the UK, with the ultimate aim of creating better places for people to live, work and travel. To achieve our aims, we need a fleet of specialist vehicles that are provided and managed to the standards of operational safety, compliance adherence and optimum availability that are also fit for purpose when considering required customer outcomes.

“Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions is uniquely placed as one of the only leasing companies to offer full support for our mix of operations. This new partnership will allow our business to make better use of our fleet of dedicated assets, which will ultimately result in a better service for our customers.”

Jon Lawes, managing director, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, added: “Supporting such a vast, diverse and dynamic company like Amey requires the support and infrastructure of a large organisation but also the responsiveness of an agile business; this is exactly what Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions offers, along with the knowledge and expertise to help transform Amey’s fleet and operations over the next six years.”
