Altodigital slashes mileage claims admin with TomTom WEBFLEET
Using TomTom’s WEBFLEET fleet management platform to locate its mobile workforce, Altodigital will be able to efficiently and quickly allocate jobs and route engineers to customers.
In addition, the use of TomTom’s WEBFLEET Logbook intuitive smartphone logbook app means Altodigital’s engineers will no longer have to complete manual mileage sheets at the end of each day. Instead they will use TomTom’s app on their iPhones to keep accurate journey logs, simply validating journey information and selecting whether trips are for business or private purposes.
‘Trying to resource, plan and dispatch more than 100 engineers can be very difficult, but with TomTom’s solution at our fingertips we will be able to streamline and improve our operations,’ said Lou Read, service operations manager.
‘What’s more, we are raising awareness of driving behaviour and encouraging improved driving standards, cutting fuel costs and boosting employee safety.’
The implementation of the TomTom system also enables the firm to help meet its eco credentials as an ISO14001 accredited company. TomTom’s ecoPLUS fuel diagnostic device reads fuel consumption data directly from vehicles to provide better insights into individual and total fleet mpg.
Giles Margerison, sales director at TomTom Business Solutions, said: ‘Tools such as the WEBFLEET Logbook app and driver behaviour monitoring technology, along with data on speeding, harsh braking and steering, create greater business efficiency. By working together with easier access to actionable data, drivers and employers can make smarter decisions to realise benefits for the entire organisation.’
Altodigital’s investment was supported by official TomTom partner Fleetview Solutions.
