Alfa Romeo reveals facelifted Giulietta

Updated exterior styling ties the model more closely with the Giulia and brings a new honeycomb grille, piano black bumper inserts and revised headlamp and fog lamp surrounds.

In the UK, the new model range features five trim levels: Giulietta, Giulietta Super, Giulietta Tecnica, Giulietta Speciale and Giulietta Veloce.

Standard equipment across the range now includes the Uconnect infotainment system with smart-phone enabled LIVE services. Also included are leather steering wheel with audio remote controls, air conditioning, five-inch Uconnect LIVE with Bluetooth connectivity, the Alfa DNA selector, six airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels and steering-wheel paddle shifters on TCT-equipped models.

The line-up also brings a replacement for the former Business Edition in the guise of the Giulietta Tecnica, which includes the 6.5-inch Uconnect infotainment system with navigation, automatic lights and wipers, electro-chromatic rear view mirror, front and rear parking sensors, new 16-inch wheels, side skirts and rear privacy glass.

Engine line-up sees the 118bhp 1.6-litre JTDM-2 turbo diesel engine now available with the Alfa TCT twin dry-clutch transmission. The model brings a top speed of 121mph and a 0 to 62mph time of 10.2 seconds, while its official combined cycle fuel economy and emissions figures match those of the manual version, standing at 74.3mpg and 99g/km.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta goes on sale on 1 April with entry-level pricing starting from £18,450 OTR for the 118bhp 1.4 petrol in Giulietta specification. Pricing for other models will be announced closer to the car’s UK launch.
