Alfa Giulietta gains sub-100g/km diesel in range updates

The latest revisions to the hatchback see every engine updated to bring enhanced economy without compromising on performance.

Expected to be of key interest to fleets is the reduction in emissions for the 1.6 JTDM-2 turbo diesel engine from 104g/km to 99g/km, thanks to the addition of a variable-geometry turbo charger and low rolling-resistance tyres. The drop in emissions results in a 1% BiK reduction to 17% while the annual Road Fund Licence is now £0.

The engine also brings an increase in power from 105bhp to 120bhp and can now return 74.3mpg on the official combined fuel economy cycle, up from the 70.6mpg figure for the current 1.6 JTDM2 105hp engine.

Emissions and economy are also improved across the range, resulting in a 1% BiK reduction on all engines from the entry-level 1.4 Turbo Petrol 120bhp to the 1750TBi 240bhp TCT unit in the Quadrifoglio Verde version, while the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol 150bhp and 170bhp engines slip into a lower emissions band, reducing the OTR price by £130 and annual running costs even further.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta engine range has been revised to offer improved economy and emissions across the entire petrol and diesel engine range.

Pricing for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range remains unchanged despite the engine upgrades, with pricing for the 1.4 TB 120hp Progression starting at £18,450 OTR.

The Giulietta also brings the high-specification Business Edition range, with alloy wheels, Uconnect touchscreen navigation and metallic paint, which starts at £19,080 OTR with the 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp engine.
