ALD Automotive India hits on an eco idea with a difference
Under the "Go Green" initiative, the leasing and fleet management specialist is offering a mid-range mountain bike free of charge with every vehicle that it leases from 5 June 2010 to 6 July 2010.
Commenting on the offer, the company said: 'This is to promote travelling shorter distances by means of a bicycle which will save on fuel, reduce pollution in and around our cities and also provide better health. This offer during the World Environment month is an initiative to help to care and protect our environment. As an international mobility company, our responsibility is to act everyday to improve your fleet and to limit fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.'
ALD Automotive says that its focus on economy, environment and road safety is demonstrated in many countries through its "Blue Fleet" programme, which helps companies to design car policies and activities to inspire employees to focus on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and road safety.
It adds that in the Indian market, such initiatives have only just kicked off but there is still a long way to go as the car market continues to grow and mature.
ALD Automotive India was established five years ago and currently has a fleet of around 6,500 vehicles and over 350 corporate customers. It includes a corporate head office in Mumbai and branches in Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
