The collaboration is hoped to ensure a smooth repair process for vehicles vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assisted Systems (ADAS).

The agreement follows a £2m investment in equipment and training by National Windscreens at each of its 108 centres, which Fix Auto’s ADAS calibration technology will complement.

Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK said: “With more and more cars being equipped with the latest ADAS technology, there are occasions when a repair process can be slowed through no fault of a repairer.

“Prior to this new partnership, our franchisees without the necessary technology have little choice but to turn to their local main dealer to recalibrate vehicles and this can add weeks to the process. The cost implications, particularly for our insurer clients, can easily mount up. In partnering with National Windscreens’ network, we will avoid this scenario.”

Peter Marsden, managing director at National Windscreens, said: “With the majority of ADAS enabled vehicles requiring calibration to be undertaken in workshop conditions, we are committed to providing windscreen replacement and calibration in one visit to any of our 108 locations around the UK.”
