ACFO partners Greenfleet for event collaboration in 2013

Taking place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, Northamptonshire, the premier event in the ACFO calendar will be held alongside the eighth GreenFleet Arrive‘n’Drive event for fleet chiefs.

Next year’s ACFO Conference and AGM is expected to conclude around 3pm when delegates will be able to drive the very latest low carbon, electric and hydrogen vehicles. The ACFO event will start at 09.45am, with registration and light refreshments available from 09:00am.

ACFO director and deputy chairman Damian James, head of operations at Bracknell Forest Council, who is organising the speaker line-up for the Conference, said: ‘Linking up with Arrive‘n’Drive is an ACFO first and gives members and their guests an excellent opportunity to take to the wheel of the very latest low and zero emission cars and LCVs.

‘As always the annual ACFO Conference and AGM will be a key networking event in the fleet calendar and we are currently busy putting together what will I’m sure be a first class speaker line-up.

'We also believe that the tie-up with the Arrive‘n’Drive event will prove to be a fertile recruitment ground for ACFO and will help to raise the profile of the organisation within the wider fleet community,’ he added.

Mr James added: ‘ACFO is a dynamic organisation and is continually looking to expand and develop. One of the ways that we can do this is by forging closer links with a number of other transport-related organisations to deliver a range of added benefits to members – as we have already done with the likes of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association, the Freight Transport Association, the Institute of Travel and Meetings and the Institute of Car Fleet Management.’

Colin Boyton, marketing manager of PSi Ltd, publishers of GreenFleet and Arrive‘n’Drive event organiser, said: ‘Arrive‘n’Drive is, by far, the single largest gathering of ‘green’ vehicles in the UK.

‘More than 100 different vehicles will be available for fleet managers and heads of transport to drive, in between which, they can visit the indoor exhibition and discuss the other products and services being showcased, that can help them run their transport operations more efficiently.’

Mr Boyton added: ‘We are absolutely delighted to host the 2013 ACFO Conference and AGM. We have built a great relationship with ACFO over the years, which reached a new level this year with the organisation exhibiting at both Arrive‘n’Drive and its sister event in Scotland.

‘The events are expanding every year, and we are always looking at ways of keeping them fresh and adding new interest. The introduction of the ACFO Conference and AGM in 2013 will do just that,’ he said.

‘As a result, the combined event will offer ACFO delegates a great opportunity to gather the latest information, coupled with time to see and experience the latest in ‘green’ vehicle technology,’ he concluded.
