ACFO extends global reach

ACFO is expanding its global work as it looks to pool fleet management best practice.

ACFO deputy chairman Caroline Sandall

ACFO deputy chairman Caroline Sandall will meet with the European Fleet and Mobility Association next month to discuss ACFO joining

The association is exploring joining the European Fleet and Mobility Association (EUFMA) –  which was launched earlier this year by German, Swiss and Austrian fleet associations – along with fleet decision-maker organisations based in France, Italy and Spain. The associations will meet in Paris on 4 October where ACFO will be represented by deputy chairman Caroline Sandall.

Chairman John Pryor will also speak next month at a major fleet conference in the United States of America. The Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association’s (AFLA) annual conference takes place on 1-3 October in Orlando and will see Pryor present an overview of the UK fleet market. It follows ACFO’s decision last year to join the Global Fleet Consortium Network, which was the brainchild of the AFLA.

Pryor will tell conference delegates how the industry is going through seismic change, including: taxation, environmental, political and vehicle technology changes, the influence of Millennials, business operating changes and Brexit.

But he will also tell delegates: “Fleet is forever resilient and whatever does come from this, we will cope. Perhaps we will have to change. But we have not been afraid of change and diversity before. In reality we are all experiencing the same issues, perhaps more in some areas rather than others. In the end, running a fleet in the UK, Europe, USA or the world is not that different.”
