ABAX enters Belgian market with RAM Track-and-trace acquisition

ABAX has expanded into Belgium with the acquisition of RAM Track-and-trace.

Morten Strand, group CEO of ABAX

The acquisition, made for an undisclosed amount, furthers ABAX’s work to grow its European operations.

Under the deal, the two firms will team up to create a “leading Nordic SaaS telematics company and deliver value-added connectivity services to the customers of both companies”, according Morten Strand, group CEO of ABAX.

Strand added: “The acquisition is an important step for us to further strengthen our operations and our position in the Europe. With the acquisition ABAX will enter Belgium and expand our operations in Europe.”

It will also bring a number of benefits for existing RAM Track-and-trace customers in Belgium, who will be able to get full access to the ABAX global IoT network, which has 350,000 subscriptions in Europe.

The RAM track-and-trace services have been designed for wide-ranging functionality, from very simple to very complex tracking or equipment management, and the services can be linked to third-party software to provide information and insight about vehicles, employee working hours and equipment location.

“This acquisition represents an excellent opportunity to achieve further growth through scale size, to optimise our services even better and to continue providing sustainable solutions. This will open access for both new and existing customers to the market’s most advanced and innovative telematics solutions,” said Bart Claes, CEO, RAM Track-and-trace.
