Dopson has worked in the fleet industry for over 15 years and started her professional career as fleet manager for Electricity Direct UK, responsible for a fleet size of 200 vehicles. Following the acquisition of Electricity Direct by Centrica in 2001, Sarah became a fleet administrator for Centrica PLC. After four years, and following the separation of Centrica and The AA, she joined The Automobile Association and headed up the fleet for the company cars and Driving School divisions as a fleet co-ordinator looking after 2,500 vehicles.

Two years later, she was appointed vehicle supply manager at The Automobile Association and in 2007 was promoted to her current position with responsibility for over 8,500 vehicles.

In her current role, she is responsible for the management of the highly complex and diverse fleet across all the business areas, ensuring compliance and optimising the procurement and disposal of commercial and company car fleets.

Roddy Graham, chairman of the ICFM, commented: ‘I am delighted to welcome Sarah Dopson on board as we seek to carefully expand the strength of the Council with the right balance of skills and experience. She is a well respected, highly motivated, senior fleet management figure whose direct experience of managing large fleets on a day-to-day basis will add considerable value to the Institute’s development.’

Dopson has been an ICFM member since 2007.
