2022 Mazda CX-5 revealed with new styling and enhanced dynamics

Mazda is introducing a refreshed version of its CX-5 SUV, bringing an updated design and grade structure along with enhanced driving dynamics.

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 is on sale throughout Europe early next year

On sale throughout Europe early next year, the 2022 CX-5 gains the Mazda Intelligent Drive select (Mi-Drive), which enables the driver to select the most appropriate drive mode with one touch of a switch. Models featuring i-Activ AWD also get an Off-Road Mode to bring added traction on slippery surfaces.

The CX-5 also gets Mazda’s latest Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture concept, focused on enhancing ride comfort and reducing fatigue through updates to the bodyshell, suspension and seats. It also offers greater refinement through reduced road noise.

Exterior updates include a bolder new grille and restyled front and rear lights – the front Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH) have also been enhanced.

Changes to the cabin include a wireless Qi phone charging tray in the centre console, while the two-piece, reversible boot floorboard and the tailgate sill are positioned on the same level to aid loading.

The range of i-Activsense safety systems has also been extended and now includes Cruising & Traffic Support, which provides semi-autonomous help with accelerator, brake pedal and steering operations in traffic jams.

Trim levels are also being enhanced to bring greater model differentiation.

Details of the CX-5 range and pricing for the UK will be announced this autumn.
