Skoda is updating its flagship Superb model for 2018 with new infotainment, comfort and driver assistance features.

The 2018 Superb will feature new infotainment, comfort and driver assistance features.

Available to order now, the updated family saloon now gets Skoda’s Care Connect emergency assistance as standard from the SE trim upwards – regardless of the choice of infotainment system. This includes the automatic emergency call service, which is activated following an accident if a restraint system has been triggered and transmits all the necessary data to the emergency services. It can also be manually activated via a button in the roof module.

Other changes see Superb drivers now able to make use of the Connect App, which can advise if the windows and doors are closed or the lights are off, and where the vehicle is parked.

Infotainment changes see drivers opting for the Columbus navigation system now get a 9.2-inch display instead of the previous 8-inch system, while the Swing system increases from 5 to 6.5 inches, and SmartLink+ integration is now available.

Safety updates see the Park Distance Control system gain the Manoeuvre Assist extended function, which now detects obstacles in front of the vehicle.

Finally, the Superb gains a massage function for the driver’s seat, including ventilation and memory, digital voice enhancement to amplify driver’s and front passenger’s voice to the passengers in the rear, and design features including new 19-inch alloy wheels.

Prices for the updated Superb start from £20,050 OTR for the hatch 1.4S, compared to £19,945 before the updates, with Skoda saying that the price increase across the range is on the whole less than £100.
