The Crafter is one of 48 ordered as part of the Baxi Group’s ongoing vehicle replacement programme to update Heateam’s current fleet of Volkswagen LT32 vans.

Reliability and customer service were a key influence in remaining with the Volkswagen brand as Gordon Judge, Baxi field logistics co-ordinator, explained.

‘It is essential we provide an efficient and reliable service for our customers. We continually review our fleet operations and the Crafter’s size, reduced emissions and support of a branded national network reinforced our choice.

‘In addition, the Volkswagen range is extremely popular with our engineers and their comfort is also integral to our business operations,’ he continued.

Chris Blue, national fleet manager, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: 'We are delighted to have delivered our 15,000th Crafter and to hear such positive comments about reliability and the high levels of customer service provided by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.’

Supplied by Listers Volkswagen Van Centre in Coventry, the Crafters are fitted with specially designed racking. Heateam’s domestic heating engineers will each cover an average of 20,000 miles per annum providing service and technical backup to customers throughout the UK.
