100% electric taxi firm signs up to renewable energy
Based in Canary wharf, the firm started with just a handful of Nissan LEAFs and are now in the process of rapidly expanding their fleet, servicing a broad range of business clients. The company has now switched to renewable energy form GoldPower to improve its eco credentials further.
Alistair Clarke, CEO of eConnect cars, explained: ‘We wanted our service to be as sustainable as possible. All of our cars are 100% electric, so there are no tailpipe emissions. Now, we are taking it one step further with GoldPower. For every MWh of energy we use, one MWh of energy is generated from renewable sources like solar, wind and hydro power.’
Joel Fleming, the creator of GoldPower, commented: ‘The idea behind GoldPower is that you can purchase renewable energy anywhere in the world. Even if you are based in a country which does not have standard green power, you still have access to GoldPower.’
