Wilsons Auctions to host further "Big One" van sales in Ireland throughout 2011

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The company says that the "Big One" van auction was Ireland's largest ever fleet van auction, delivering a wide selection of good quality stock from vendors such as Lex, Autolease, XBG, Hitachi, BT Fleet, and Fleet Financial to the Irish motor trade.

The event – at Wilsons Auctions Portadown – proved that commercial fleet vehicles are in huge demand throughout Ireland according to the firm, with vehicles attracting strong bidding from the start. As an example, Lot 1 2008 (57) Ford Transit T280L 115 RWD Hi Roof sold at 121.4% CAP Clean.

Now Wilsons Auctions Mallusk and Portadown complexes will co-host every commercial vehicle auction and alternate the venues to suit both vendors and the Irish motor trade.

The company also says that the appetite in the Irish market for UK originated stock will remain strong throughout 2011. Richard McFetridge, commercial auction manager, commented: ‘UK-originated commercial product will always be highly sought after in this market simply because the calibre of vehicle is so good. Prior to the "Big One" quality used commercial stock was simply not available, we anticipate excellent value for Irish buyers whilst delivering sound returns for vendors who continue to support Wilsons Auctions. Wilsons Auctions will look after the logistical implications of transport and vehicle delivery – enabling the buyers and vendors to meet on price.’

The next "Big One" will take place at 1pm on 27 October at the Wilsons Auctions Mallusk Complex and the company says it's set to publish the dates for a full 2011 LCV programme.
