Vauxhall to launch Eos-rivalling convertible

Like the TwinTop version of the previous generation car, the Cascada is longer than the Astra hatchback. At 4.7 metres, the new model is slightly longer than the forthcoming Astra saloon, and the teaser image hints at a familiar front end treatment with similarly shaped headlamps to its fixed roof siblings.

The car features an electronically folding fabric roof, which opens at speeds of up to 31mph, and is likely to launch in Europe with engines similar to the Astra, including the 197bhp 2.0 –litre Biturbo diesel.

Full details will be announced at the Paris Motor Show.
