Led by chief executive David Hosking, the 26-strong team of Tusker participants – the self-named Tusker Tough Mudders – included all the senior management team; chief operating officer, Mark Sinclair, chief financial officer, David Brockwell, business development director, Alison Argall and account development director, Veronica Steele.

Between them they have now raised £19,352 – with money coming in all the time from well-wishers and supporters. All monies raised are going to the Teenage Cancer Trust whose mission is to raise funds, educate, and support teenagers fighting cancer and anyone wishing to donate can do so at http://www.justgiving.com/company/tusker

The Tough Mudder challenge is billed as “probably the toughest event on the planet” and comprises a 12 mile-long obstacle course designed by the Special Forces to test all-round strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.

The course includes freezing cold ice baths, 12ft walls, a mud mile, an electric shock field and other “challenges”.

David Hosking said: ‘It was a gruelling day with not only the obstacles to contend with but also bouts of hail and torrential rain! However, we’re proud to say that our Tusker Tough Mudders all made it round the course.

‘We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, suppliers, competitors, friends and family for sponsoring us – the money is going to such a great cause and is greatly appreciated.’

To see further proof of the efforts of the Tusker Tough Mudders, a special microsite has been set up at https://www.tuskerdirect.com/mudder  On the site, visitors can also view a Tough Mudder video – although there may be a few bleeps!

‘There is, of course, still time to donate once you’ve seen what a tough day we had, simply click on the just giving.com link on the above website to help us achieve our £20k target!’ added Hosking.
