Day’s Rental to deploy Free2Move Connect Fleet telematics

Vehicle hire specialist Day’s Rental is deploying Free2Move’s Connect Fleet services on its fleet to gain wide-ranging telematics insights.

Connect Fleet has been developed by Free2Move to link drivers and businesses to their vehicles, accessing information to help save time and money

The solution has been developed by mobility tech firm Free2Move, part of Stellantis Group, to link drivers and businesses to their vehicles, accessing information to help save time and money on their fleet.

The Connect Fleet services will be used across the 1,500 Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall and DS Automobiles vehicles available on the Day’s Rental fleet and will give updates on geolocation, fuel level, mileage and maintenance alerts to support with the day-to-day running of the business.

This will help optimise operation of many key processes such as fleet inventory management, vehicle delivery and collection and vehicle maintenance. This in turn will also bring wide-ranging customer benefits.

Michael McCarry, managing director of Day’s Rental, said: “The team at Day’s Rental will always embrace the next technology, so when the opportunity arose to give our ‘Stellantis Fleet’ vehicles the ability to publish to us all mechanical alerts including live odometer, fuel and charge status for EVs, we added this.

“Now giving us 24/7 and 365 days’ visibility, we can ensure that all alerts are actioned via our V-Check system, which in turn saves money, reduces downtime, but more importantly the vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.”

Mark Blundell, managing director, Free2Move UK, added: “Free2Move allows businesses and fleet operators to access a wealth of valuable data to help advance their services to ensure they are delivering optimum efficiency for customers. We hope that Day’s Rental can soon see the benefits of the Free2Move Connect Fleet services.”
