David Fernandes, UK MD of sgfleet, which also operates in New Zealand and Australia.

The acquisition follows that of Fleet Hire in August and puts the combined business in the top 20 segment of the UK contract hire market.

Peter Davenport, managing director of Motiva Group, will stay on with the business along with group sales and marketing director Peter Wright and group financial controller Matthew Hill.

Davenport said: “I am excited about taking the business forward and the investment sgfleet brings.

“Their strategic plans in the UK presented an exciting opportunity for the team at Motiva and will add value to the service proposition for our customers.”

Sgfleet’s UK MD, David Fernandes commented: “Motiva is an excellent addition to our UK operations. It brings further skills in the specialist light commercial vehicle segment and daily rental operations as well as an increased footprint in the contract hire market.

“I am delighted that Peter Davenport has chosen to remain with the business and help deliver our strategic plans in the UK.”

He added the business remains very pleased with the acquisition of Fleet Hire and the progress on the integration to date, which has seen the Fleet Hire and sgfleet teams move into the same premises in the Midlands within the last week.

Fleet Hire chief executive Graham Hale added: “Since joining the sgfleet family in August, we have made significant progress with our customers and our product offering. Motiva will undoubtedly contribute and benefit further from this trend.”
