Renault streamlines passenger car line-up

From 4 January, just three core trim levels will be offered – Expression, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom – across all models, in addition to the Renaultsport and Gordini versions.

Renault also says these trim levels will carry a standard meaning. Expression becomes the value-for-money option while Dynamique TomTom, which includes the fully-integrated Carminat TomTom satellite navigation, will focus on equipment specification and a sportier feel. GT Line TomTom will take the lead on equipment, looks and sportiness.

Martin Ward, manufacturer relationship manager, CAP, commented: 'The old model range was too complicated and confusing. The new simplified model line-up is easy to understand, has been well thought through by Renault UK and will make it so much easier for both retail and fleet customers to order cars, and know what they are getting, and where it sits in the range. Renault have made a brave and bold decision, but one that will benefit them and their dealers in the short and long term.'

Darren Payne, director, fleet and commercial vehicle operations at Renault UK, added: 'Our wide range has always been a strong selling point for us, but we've also been conscious recently that our trim levels across the range could be more consistent. We're pleased with the end result of refining the range, while still retaining a significant level of choice for a wide spectrum of business drivers and their diverse needs. We've addressed the recommendations raised by our customers, the used car value guides and contract hire companies, so we're hopeful the improvement will reap benefits for new company car drivers, as well as used car buyers.'
